Banana Boats at Pomona
I have vivid memories of being carried on my father’s shoulders in the last days of Manchester Docks as a working dockyard.
In the far distance he pointed out the banana boats. I clearly remember the dark shapes with bright yellow funnels.
Decades later, I decided to recreate the scene after sourcing references of Elder and Fyffes lines banana boats.
